Vision Ace T-Tip 12ft, Skagit Tip. The Vision Ace Tip represents a type of Skagit tip. Skagit refers to a line type developed in the USA, specifically designed to facilitate the casting of heavy flies in tight locations. Skagit tips are heavier and shorter than standard shooting heads, and their casting technique differs slightly from that of normal shooting heads. These Skagit tips are specifically intended as an extension for the Vision Ace Skagit, but they can also be used as a fast tip in interchangeable shooting heads.

Vision Ace T-Tip family includes three different lengths: 10ft, 12.5ft, and 15ft. Each category features three different weight classes: T10, T14, and T17. All tips are equipped with ready-made loops (at both ends) to ease your fishing experience. With varying lengths and weights, you can adjust the depth at which your fly swims. Each tip is clearly marked with its length and weight class for easy identification. This product is the medium length version at 12 feet.

Vision Ace T-Tip lines, like other Vision products, come with a manufacturer's 1-year warranty.

Skagit tips are classified as T-class. The classifications indicate the line weight, so the number following the T letter denotes the material weight in grains for each foot. In other words, T-10 weighs 10 grains per foot, and T-14 weighs 14 grains per foot. For example, a T-17 15ft tip weighs a total of 15*17gr = 255gr, which is about 16.5 grams.

Besides different weights, Skagit tips also come in different lengths. These are always specified in feet, with common lengths being 10ft, 12ft, and 15ft. You can shorten the tip as needed later, but factory-made tips always have factory knots. The length of Skagit tips only matters in that a longer tip sinks from greater distances, allowing you to fish your fly deeper.

All Skagit tips, regardless of weight, sink at a rate of approximately 8 inches per second, corresponding to familiar speeds from shooting heads like the Sink8. Heavier tips are made of the same material, but are slightly thicker, allowing you to sink your fly deeper in strong currents with a heavier tip.

Suitable for double-handed rods for fly, running, and bottom lines.

Lines, lines, lines. It seems this generates enough discussion to last until the end of the world. Generally, conversations also include the suitability of rods, casts, weather, fish, and of course, the fishermen, for each line. Many modern lines have little to do with the good old AFTM classification, making it challenging to assess the differences between them. Understanding these differences is crucial when evaluating how lines behave, so we strive to follow the AFTM classification as closely as possible. If a line has had difficulty finding its own class due to its diverse characteristics and intended uses, we have included a sticker with the line's weight, accurate to the gram, on the packaging.
