Vision Ace T-Tip 15ft, Skagit Tip. The Vision Ace Tip represents the so-called Skagit tips. Skagit refers to a line type developed in the USA, specifically designed to facilitate the casting of heavy flies in tight spaces. Skagit lines are shorter and heavier than standard shooting heads, and their casting technique differs slightly from standard heads. These Skagit tips are specially designed as extensions for the Vision Ace Skagit, but can also be effectively used as fast tips on interchangeable shooting heads.

The Vision Ace T-Tip family includes three different lengths: 10, 12.5, and 15 feet. Within each of these categories, there are three weight classes: T10, T14, and T17. All tips come equipped with ready-made loops (on both ends) to enhance your fishing experience. With tips of varying lengths and weights, you can control the depth at which your flies swim. Each tip is also clearly marked with its length and weight class for easy identification. This specific product is the longest version at 15 feet.

Vision Ace T-Tip lines, like all Vision products, come with a manufacturer's one-year warranty.

Skagit tips are classified into the so-called T classes. The classes are indicated by the weight of the line, with the number following the T representing the weight in grains per foot. In other words, T-10 weighs 10 grains per foot, and T-14 weighs 14 grains per foot. For example, the T-17 15ft tip weighs a total of 15*17gr = 255gr or approximately 16.5 grams.

In addition to varying weights, Skagit tips also come in different lengths. These lengths are always specified in feet, with the most common lengths being 10ft, 12ft, and 15ft. Tips can later be shortened as needed, but factory-made tips always feature factory loops. The length of the Skagit tips primarily affects how deep the tip sinks, allowing you to place your flies deeper from a longer distance.

All Skagit tips, regardless of weight, sink at approximately 8 inches per second, corresponding to the familiar speed of a shooting head like Sink8. Heavier tips are made from the same material but are slightly thicker, enabling you to get your flies deeper in strong currents.
Suitable for two-handed rods, for use with fly, running, and sinking lines.

Lines, lines, lines. It seems there’s enough debate on this topic to last until the end of time. Adding to the discussion are the compatibility of rods, casts, weather, fish, and, of course, the preferences of anglers for each line. Many modern lines have little to do with the old AFTM classification, making it challenging to assess the differences between them. Understanding these differences is crucial for evaluating line performance, which is why we strive to follow the AFTM classification as closely as possible. If a line has difficulty finding its class due to its various features and intended uses, we have also included a sticker on the packaging indicating the line weight to the gram.
