Dianova Lapstone Diamond Sharpener
The Dianova LapStone diamond surface was originally developed for demanding professional use, but its current selection includes models suitable for every outdoor enthusiast. The diamond coating is based on a patented Single Layer System process technology that cannot be duplicated.
The industrial diamond used in the sharpener is finely sifted, ensuring that the grain size/coarseness is consistent. The fine diamond is 30 microns/600 mesh, ideal for finishing, and the coarse diamond is 60 microns/350 mesh, designed for basic sharpening.
The sharpener's body and handle are made from polished stainless steel, allowing the handle and edge to be used for removing burrs and straightening the blade, effectively acting as a ''stool''.
Durability is guaranteed by a completely seamless and uniformly high-quality diamond mat covering the sharpening surface. This means the blade never comes into contact with the binding material, which secures the diamond, preventing deterioration and diamond granules from detaching. With a high-quality diamond surface, the blade being sharpened glides past the diamond granules without hitting any individual particles.
The Lap Stone sharpener should always be used with a light grip, even with the hardest materials, such as carbide, high-speed steel, or diamond blades. There is no benefit to applying excess force; the sharper the blade, the lighter the touch required. This sharpener is ideal for sharpening, grinding, and finishing all types of blades.
The diamond strip, attached to the stainless spring steel frame, is resistant to impacts, bending, and moisture. The diamond strip consists of four layers: a diamond mat, a tough bonding metal where the diamonds are fixed, copper beneath the binder, and
a composite layer underneath.
