- built to withstand wear and tear year after year
The Kånken backpack, made from robust and water-repellent Vinylon-F fabric, has consistently ranked among the most popular backpacks for decades. It is one of the few backpacks that is widely recognized by name. With countless color options continually being introduced, there’s a perfect Kånken for everyone.
The Kånken - designed for optimal back support.
When it was launched in 1978, the Kånken was specifically created to solve the back problems of schoolchildren, as such issues were increasingly common among younger age groups at the time, with shoulder bags being more prevalent. The Kånken boasts several functionalities, all designed to be simple and effective. It quickly became a familiar sight in preschools and kindergartens everywhere. The idea of carrying a backpack spread rapidly, and so did the Kånken. Today, it is as popular for school use as it is for day hikes or bike commutes. The Kånken is made from lightweight yet highly durable Vinylon-F fabric, featuring a large main compartment with a wide opening for easy packing and access. It includes two side pockets and a zipped front pocket, along with a top handle, slender, flexible shoulder straps, a seat pad stored in a back pocket, and a reflective logo for safety.

Note! Water and dry cleaning are prohibited in the care of Kånken backpacks. Regardless of your activities, do not place your Kånken in the washing machine. Instead, clean any dirty spots with lukewarm water, mild detergent, and a soft brush or sponge. It is best to dry your Kånken by hanging it in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Also, avoid leaving your Kånken in direct sunlight as the color may fade. Kånken prefers the shade or less intense sunlight. Highly pigmented colors may bleed slightly when wet.
