- A moisture-repelling space marvel

Kånken was introduced back in 1978 to solve children’s back problems. At that time, back issues had spread lower down the age groups, as shoulder bags were in vogue. Thanks to its simple yet ingenious design, the Kånken backpack evenly distributes weight across both shoulders, effectively preventing back and shoulder aches. The backpack soon became a common sight in kindergartens and schools everywhere. The idea of carrying a backpack quickly gained traction — so did Kånken!

Kånken is made from durable and lightweight Vinylon F fabric, which repels moisture during winter slush and summer downpours. However, it is not entirely waterproof or submersible. It is easy to load and unload, featuring a spacious 16-liter main compartment, which is easy to pack and unpack thanks to its large zippered opening.

Kånken is roomier than you think. Its ideal size ensures you won’t accidentally carry unnecessary items with you. The narrow but deep side pockets are perfect for a phone, phone charger, small items, or a water bottle and umbrella storage. There is also a separate zippered pocket at the front.

The backpack comes with a PE foam backing that fits inside the back pocket, preventing the contents from pressing against your back. It features carrying handles at the top, a front reflector logo, and an internal name label in the main compartment. The narrow but carefully designed shoulder straps distribute weight evenly across your shoulders. The shoulder straps are easily adjustable for the perfect fit.

Note! Water and dry cleaning are prohibited in the care of Kånken backpacks. Whatever you do, do NOT put Kånken in the washing machine. Instead, clean dirty spots with lukewarm water, mild detergent, and a soft brush or sponge. Kånken should be dried by hanging in a well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight. Avoid leaving Kånken in direct sunlight. Color may fade. Kånken prefers shade or less intense sunlight. Strongly dyed colors may bleed slightly when wet.
