The Kånken was originally introduced to address the back problems of school children. Its simple yet ingenious design evenly distributes weight across both shoulders, effectively preventing pain in the back and shoulders. Over the decades, the popularity of this "fox backpack" has only grown and shows no signs of stopping.
Forget about backpacks that last a year or two in use. The Kånken is made of durable and lightweight Vinylon F fabric, which repels moisture during winter slush and summer downpours. However, it is not completely waterproof or weatherproof. Yet, professional photographers trust this backpack so much that they carry thousands of euros worth of camera equipment in it. Kånken has invested particularly in the quality of the zippers used in the backpack. The zippers are covered with fabric to keep moisture out of the backpack.
The Kånken is easy to fill and empty - the square-shaped backpack features a spacious 16-liter main compartment that opens wide thanks to a large zipper, making packing and unpacking a breeze. The narrow but deep side pockets are perfect for storing a phone, phone charger, small items, or even a water bottle and umbrella. There's also a separate zip pocket on the front.
The backpack comes with a PE foam back support that fits against your back in an inner pocket, preventing the contents from pressing against your back. At the top, there are carrying handles, a reflective logo on the front, and a name label inside the main compartment. Thanks to the narrow yet carefully designed shoulder straps, the backpack distributes weight evenly across the shoulders. The shoulder straps are easy to adjust for the perfect fit.

Whatever you decide to do, don’t put the Kånken in the washing machine. Instead, clean dirty areas with lukewarm water, mild detergent, and a soft brush or sponge. Hang the Kånken to dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Do not leave the Kånken in direct sunlight either; the colors may fade. The Kånken prefers shade or less intense sunlight. Strongly pigmented colors may lose a bit of dye when wet.
