Product Information
- Sharpening Stone Material: Phyllite
- Dimensions: 11 x 3 x 1 cm
Sharpen Correctly
- Wet the stone with water.
- Sharpen both sides of the blade with a circular motion, aligning with the edge angle. Maintain the knife's sharpening angle parallel to the blade's bevel.
Distance between the blade's spine and sharpening stone: For Lynx knives, approximately 0.5 cm, and for Leukupuuko knives, approximately 0.7 cm at an angle of (22 degrees). The upper knife requires more force during sharpening.
The mass formed on the stone's surface aids in final sharpening; use more water for harder and duller blades. - Finally, grind parallel on both sides at a slightly steeper angle when sharpening the edge. (As if you were shaving off shavings from the edge). Remember to use the stone frequently to keep the edge from dulling.
When sharpening household scissors, remember that sharpening is done with parallel pushes in the direction of the blade angle towards the tips of the scissors. Only sharpen the cutting surface, do not grind the flat side of the scissors.
You can sharpen a cheese slicer by using the narrow tip of the stone. Sharpen the upper side of the cheese slicer back and forth in a "sanding" motion.
The stone also works as a nail file, hook sharpening stone, and for sharpening various chisels, sickles, and scythes. Utilize different angles of the stone as needed.
