The Kantamus 60L is the larger model of the Kantamus backpack collection. This spacious, versatile backpack is perfect for longer multi-day trips. Its internal aluminum frame provides support for carrying heavy loads, and the height of the shoulder strap attachments is adjustable to accommodate users of different heights. The main compartment has a capacity of approximately 60 liters, with an additional 12 liters in the lid, and the exterior offers numerous attachment points for side pockets and additional equipment.

The Kantamus, or "the load carried by a person", is a universally applicable, adaptable backpack model suitable for various needs. Its scalability and compressibility allow the backpack to be adjusted to different carrying requirements and situations. The internal aluminum pipe frame provides stability and weight transfer when carrying heavy loads.

The main compartment volume is roughly 60 liters, with an additional capacity of about 12 liters in the lid. The Kantamus 60L is well-suited for carrying camping gear, change of clothes, food, and water on longer multi-day trips. Abundant external attachment possibilities allow for the customization of side pockets and accessories according to the user's needs.

Main Compartment
The main compartment of the backpack opens from the top with a roll closure and also from the right side with a vertical zipper. Inside, it features a hydration reservoir pocket, with two attachment loops and one hydration reservoir connector above it. Each side of the backpack has a hydration tube port at the top.

The left side zipper leads to a large flat pocket located on the front wall of the main compartment. This is perfect for storing items like tarp fabrics and other flat-pack gear.

The sides and front are equipped with extensive PALS webbing for attaching additional pockets and gear. The bottom has two rows of PALS webbing for fastening gear using loose straps or elastic ties.

Two side compression straps with SR buckles allow for both tightening the backpack and securing additional gear such as long tools outside the backpack. You can also attach, for example, the Hatka 12 daypack with compatible buckles.

Slightly pleated side pockets permit carrying long tools and equipment on the sides of the backpack. These pockets are quite flat and low; they are not designed for holding water bottles; for that, we recommend attaching a general-purpose pocket to the hip belt.

Floating Lid
The lid has one large main compartment with a capacity of approximately 12 liters, accessible via a zipper on the neck side. When filled, the lid "inflates"; when empty, it compresses tightly. It can accommodate items such as rain gear or a break jacket. When the lid is tightened, it compresses itself, preventing the contents from shifting. On top of the lid, there are rubber loops for attaching lighter gear. The underside of the lid features two rows of PALS webbing where you can attach items like a sleeping pad.

The front of the lid has a small zippered pocket for small items, which includes a web loop with a D-ring.

Pro-tip: The lid can also be detached and swapped for, for instance, our Askare belt pouch or Hatka 12L daypack, using compatible buckles (buckles are not included with the backpack). This allows you to customize your Kantamus into a modular, quickly detachable carrying system equipped with a day/gear pouch.

Carrying System
The internal aluminum pipe frame provides support for carrying heavier loads and ensures good weight transfer to the hips. The back panel is padded with thick and stiff closed-cell foam, which is placed in a compartment secured with Velcro. The padding can be removed and used as a seat cushion, while the compartment can hold gear, such as a tarp or a rain poncho.

The padded shoulder straps attach to sturdy D-rings, allowing for some flexibility. The height of the shoulder strap attachments can be adjusted to fit users of various heights, approximately 165-195 cm tall. The upper tightening straps can be threaded through two web loops, allowing the point of separation from the shoulder straps to be adjusted according to the user's size and preference. The chest strap is detachable and can be adjusted up or down on the shoulder straps as needed.

The hip belt is made of two 50 mm webbing straps stitched to the main backpack, featuring PALS webbing. The other components of the hip belt (three padding pieces and the front buckle straps) attach by threading through these. Therefore, all parts of the hip belt can be replaced if necessary without the need for sewing or special tools. The buckle is an extremely user-friendly and reliable Berg buckle.

Durable and Maintainable
The main compartment of the backpack is made from 1000D Cordura for high durability, while details such as the opening and back are made from lighter 500D Cordura. The zippers are protected, and each zipper features two pulls for added security in case one breaks.

The backpack's buckles, lid, shoulder straps, and hip belt components can easily be replaced without sewing if they are damaged during use, ensuring ease of repair during the backpack's lifecycle.
