The Kantamus 60L is the larger model of the Kantamus backpack range. A spacious, versatile backpack designed for extended multi-day trips. The internal aluminum frame provides stability for carrying heavy loads, and the adjustable shoulder strap height accommodates users of varying heights. The backpack's main compartment has a volume of approximately 60 liters, an additional approximately 12 liters of space in the lid, and plenty of attachment points on the outside for side pockets and additional gear.

The Kantamus, or "human load capacity," is a universally adaptable backpack model that suits various needs. Its scalability and compressibility allow the backpack to be adjusted for differing carrying needs and situations. The internal aluminum frame enhances stability and weight transfer when carrying heavy loads.

The main compartment volume is around 60 liters, with approximately 12 liters in the lid. The Kantamus 60L is well-suited for carrying camping gear, spare clothes, food, and water on longer multi-day excursions. The ample external attachment points enable users to attach various side pockets and accessories according to their needs.

Main Section
The main compartment of the backpack opens from the top with a roll closure as well as through a vertical side zipper on the right side. Inside, there's a hydration bladder pocket with two attachment loops and one bladder hose exit at the top. Each side of the backpack has one hydration hose port at the top.

The left side zipper leads to a large flat pocket on the front wall of the backpack. Ideal for tent tarps and other flat-packed gear.

There are numerous PALS webbing channels on the sides and front for attaching additional pockets and gear. The bottom features two rows of PALS channels for attaching gear with loose straps or elastic cords.

Two side compression straps with SR buckles on each side allow for tightening the backpack and securing additional gear, such as long tools, outside the pack. You can also attach an Hatka 12-day backpack using compatible buckles.

Slightly pleated side pocket bags allow for carrying long tools and gear on the sides of the backpack. These pockets are quite flat and not suitable for carrying water bottles; for that purpose, we recommend attaching a utility pouch to the hip belt.

Floating Lid
The lid features one large main compartment with a volume of approximately 12 liters accessed through a zipper at the back. When filled, the lid "puffs up," and when empty, it compacts tightly. This is a great place for rain gear or a jacket. When the lid is tightened, it compresses to prevent contents from shifting. On top of the lid, there is elastic cord for securing lighter gear. The underside of the lid has two rows of PALS webbing for attaching, for example, a sleeping pad.

On the front of the lid, there is a small zippered pocket for small items, which contains a webbing loop with a D-ring.

Pro-tip: The lid can also be detached and swapped with our Askare waist belt bag or the Hatka 12L daypack, equipped with suitable buckles (buckles do not come with the backpack). This way, you can customize the Kantamus into a modular, quick detach day/utility pack system.

Carrying System
The internal aluminum frame provides support for heavier loads and excellent weight transfer to the hips. The back panel is padded with thick and durable closed-cell foam, housed in a Velcro-closed pocket. This padding can be removed from the pocket for use as a seat cushion, and the pocket can hold equipment like a tarpaulin or rain cape.

The padded shoulder straps attach to sturdy D-rings, allowing for a degree of rotation. The height of the shoulder straps is adjustable to fit users of different heights, approximately 165-195 cm tall. The top adjusting straps can be threaded through two strap keepers, thereby allowing you to customize how far apart the straps sit based on user measurements and preference. The sternum strap is removable and adjustable along the shoulder straps as needed.

The hip belt consists of two 50 mm webbing straps sewn onto the backpack with PALS webbing. Other components of the hip belt (three pads and front buckle straps) attach by threading onto these. Thus, all components of the hip belt can be replaced without any sewing or special tools if needed. The buckle is an exceptionally user-friendly and reliable Berg buckle.

Durable and Maintainable
The main compartment is made from 1000D Cordura for high durability, while details such as the opening and back are made from lighter and less coarse 500D Cordura. Zippers are shielded, and each zipper features two pulls for safety in case one breaks.

The backpack's buckles, lid, shoulder straps, and hip belt components can be easily replaced without sewing if they are damaged during use, providing easy repairability while the pack is in service.
