The Savotta Mini Jaeger is a smaller daypack from the Jaeger product line, designed with extensive input from users' experiences and wishes. Crafted from the finest materials, the Mini Jaeger retains the functionality and familiar design language of the renowned Jaeger backpack, while being lighter and more compact.
The Mini Jaeger reflects Savotta's vision of what a small daypack in this size category should be. Every detail has been carefully considered and tested. Despite its small size, the Mini Jaeger is incredibly adaptable for use in urban settings or the deepest wilderness. Its modularity comes from the pockets compatible with the Mini Jaeger and various separately purchased accessories: detachable straps, chest harnesses, hip belts, extra padding, back reinforcements, and more, all intended to enhance the usability of the Mini Jaeger.
The Mini Jaeger is not just a small backpack; it is a tool for the active individual. Thanks to its compact size, the Mini Jaeger can navigate tight spaces effortlessly, making it perfect for cycling, running, skiing, and hunting. For those unafraid of weight, the Mini Jaeger is also a remarkably durable companion for extreme sports. The pack compression straps allow for a snug, secure packing. Additionally, the Mini Jaeger is an excellent choice for carry-on luggage during air travel.
Backpack Organization
The Mini Jaeger's backpack section is designed to be narrow yet spacious enough to fit all the essentials needed for a day trip. The opening of the backpack is secured with a foldable flap that allows for overpacking. In normal packing conditions, the bag's opening can be folded down by ten centimeters for added security, keeping items from bouncing around inside and ensuring waterproofing. The foldable opening and generous straps allow for significant overpacking flexibility. The Mini Jaeger's volume adjusts continuously between 18-22 liters.
Inside the flap, there is a zippered pocket for valuables and small items like passports or toothbrushes (dimensions 15 x 25 cm). Accessing the pack is made easier by the front reinforcement at the opening, which helps keep the Mini Jaeger's mouth open, similar to a dentist's chair.
Inside the backpack, there is a pocket (dimensions 25 x 37 cm) for a hydration bladder or other separate gear. This pocket can accommodate items such as a 13.3" laptop or smaller tablets. It features an elastic band at the top to prevent items from bouncing around within the bag. Additionally, there is a hanging loop at the top for securely attaching a hydration bladder or other equipment.
On both sides of the backpack, beneath the flap, there are exit holes for a hydration bladder tube or cables and antennas.
Using the compression straps on the sides of the pack, the backpack can be tightened securely even when partially loaded. These straps can also be used for securing longer items alongside detachable straps.
PALS Webbing
The Jaeger would not be a Jaeger without the modularity provided by the PALS webbing system, commonly known as MOLLE.
PALS / MOLLE is a mounting system used by militaries worldwide, designed for absolute modularity and durability.
The term MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, while PALS stands for Pouch Attachment Ladder System.
Employing this technology, the Mini Jaeger has been developed into a highly modular unit. MOLLE can be found on the front, sides, top, and even the carrying straps of the Mini Jaeger. With the right pouches, the Mini Jaeger can be expanded into a tactical tool suitable for professional use.
In addition to providing modular attachment options, the MOLLE webbing reinforces and stabilizes the backpack. Each MOLLE attachment point on the Mini Jaeger can withstand over 100 kg of pull.
Other Attachment Points
The flap attachment straps are long and run along the entire front and bottom of the pack. When needed, a 25 mm strap can smoothly slide along the MOLLE webbing to be positioned wherever desired. This allows for secure attachment of items to the front of the pack without the need for extra loose straps. The bottom of the pack has four strap guides through which straps can run, allowing gear to also be secured to the bottom of the pack. This makes it ideal for carrying rolled sleeping pads and other equipment.
The pack features a Velcro patch (size: 5x13 cm) for name tags or patches on the front flap.
The side compression straps on the backpack can also be used to secure items that may not fit inside the pack. These straps are long enough to reach across the pack for additional securing options.
Carrying System
The thin, comfortable, 40 mm wide shoulder straps are supportive yet do not hinder movement. The straps are equipped with MOLLE webbing for attaching small accessories, chest straps, or hydration bladder hoses. The MOLLE webbing also features attachment loops for carabiners. The carrying handle on the back allows for easy transport even when the Mini Jaeger is being carried.
The carrying system of the Mini Jaeger can be easily customized with separately sold chest straps, hip belts, shoulder strap padding, and back reinforcements designed for hydration bladder pockets.
