The Kantamus 60L is a larger model from the Kantamus backpack series. This spacious, versatile backpack is ideal for longer multi-day trips. Its internal aluminum frame provides support for carrying heavy loads, and the shoulder strap attachment height can be adjusted for users of different heights. The pack's capacity is approximately 60 liters, with an additional 12 liters of space in the top compartment, and it features numerous attachment points for side pockets and accessories.

The Kantamus, translating to "the load a person can carry," is a universally applicable and customizable backpack model suitable for a variety of needs. Its scalability and compressibility allow it to adapt to varying carrying requirements and situations. The internal aluminum frame offers stabilizing support and efficient weight transfer for heavy loads.

The main compartment has a volume of about 60 liters, with an additional 12 liters in the lid. The Kantamus 60L is well-suited for carrying camping gear, change of clothes, food, and water for extended multi-day excursions. Abundant external attachment options facilitate the addition of side pockets and accessories customized to the user's necessities.

Main Compartment
The main compartment of the pack opens at the top with a roll top closure and also features a vertical side zipper on the right. Inside, there is a hydration bladder pocket with two attachment loops above and one hydration tube port on both sides of the pack.

The left side zipper leads to a large flat compartment on the front wall of the pack, perfect for flat-packed items like tarp materials and other gear.

There are plenty of PALS webbing channels on the sides and front for attaching additional pockets and equipment. The bottom has two PALS webbing rows for attaching equipment using detachable straps or elastic cords.

Two side compression straps with SR buckles on each side allow for tightening the pack and securing additional gear, like long tools, to the exterior. These straps can also attach, for example, the Hatka 12 daypack, given the appropriate buckles.

Slightly pleated side pockets facilitate carrying long tools and gear on the sides. These pockets are quite flat and shallow, not intended for water bottles; for that, we recommend adding a general pocket to your hip belt.

Floating Lid
The lid features a large main compartment with a volume of about 12 liters, accessed through a zipper on the back. When filled, the lid "balloons" out, and when empty, it compresses tightly. It's perfect for rain gear or a jacket. When tightened, the lid compresses itself firmly, preventing movement inside. On top of the lid, there is elastic cord for securing lighter gear. The underside of the lid has two PALS webbing rows, suitable for attaching, for example, a sleeping pad.

The front of the lid has a small zippered pocket for small items with a webbing loop and D-ring inside.

Pro tip: The lid can also be detached and swapped for, e.g., our Askare belt pouch or Hatka 12L daypack, equipped with the appropriate buckles (the buckles do not come with the pack). This way, you can transform your Kantamus into a modular, quick-release system with a day/pouch attachment.

Carrying System
The internal aluminum tube frame provides support and good weight transfer to the hips for heavier loads. The back panel is padded with thick and durable closed-cell foam, which is placed in a velcro-sealed pocket. The padding can be removed for use as a seat pad, and the pocket can be used to store gear, such as a tarp or rain poncho.

The padded shoulder straps attach to durable D-rings, allowing for some movement. The height of the shoulder strap attachment can be adjusted for users ranging approximately from 165-195 cm tall. The upper tightening straps can be threaded through two webbing loops, allowing for adjustments based on user size and preference. The chest strap is detachable and can be adjusted up or down on the shoulder straps as needed.

The hip belt consists of two sewn 50 mm straps attached to the pack, featuring PALS webbing. Other components of the hip belt (three pads and the front closure straps with buckles) attach by threading. This means all parts of the hip belt can be replaced when needed without sewing or special tools. The belt buckle is an extremely user-friendly and reliable Berg buckle.

Durable and Maintainable
The main part of the backpack is made from 1000D Cordura for high abrasion resistance, while details like the opening and back panel are made from a lighter and less coarse 500D Cordura. The zippers are protected, and each zipper features two pulls as a precaution in case one breaks.

The backpack's buckles, lid, shoulder straps, and hip components can be easily replaced without sewing if they become damaged during use, allowing for straightforward repairs during the pack's use.
