Savotta Side Pouch 6L Olive Green
The Savotta Side Pouch is exactly what you need from a side pocket of your backpack, and nothing more. The zipper covered with fabric is protected from water, dirt, and wear. Vertical webbing loops on the front wall of the pouch securely hold the backpack's side compression straps in place and compress the pouch evenly, in addition to the backpack itself. These can also be used for attaching items like rubber hoses and carabiners.
The 25 mm web loop and D-ring at the top rear serve as a secure point for small valuables, and the flat internal compartment offers simple organization for smaller items. The bottom and lower sides are reinforced with 210D lining fabric. A water drainage hole at the bottom of the pouch allows any water that might enter to escape.
The back features standard PALS attachments with foldable flaps. The middle horizontal webbing rows are omitted as they do not provide any additional weight advantage.
Between the two vertical PALS attachment straps of the pouch is about a 9 cm gap, allowing you to carry axes, poles, etc., slipped behind the pouch.
Optimal attachment requires four webbing rows wide and a minimum of six (preferably five) rows high of PALS webbing. The backpack's side compression straps prevent potential sloshing of the pouch and its contents when tightened.
The 6L side pouch fits all backpacks in the Jääkäri series. In backpacks with fewer than six rows of PALS webbing on the sides, the bottom of the pouch may 'hang'. You can let the side compression strap handle this, or you can attach the pouch a step higher.
As a mid-sized pouch, this six-liter model is just the right size for what you would expect to see attached to a 30-80 liter backpack. Here are a few examples of what fits well inside:
