Butler Creek “Flip-Open” lens caps have been favored by shooters for over 20 years. The lens caps feature a silent “Quiet Open” mechanism that allows for quick and noiseless access. They protect your binocular lenses from moisture and water exposure. Butler Creek lens caps are designed to withstand extreme conditions (operating temperature range -40 to +120 degrees Fahrenheit). These lens caps are also suitable for left-handed shooters. Refer to the accompanying chart for the correct size.
Objective (obj) refers to the front lens
Eyepiece (okul) refers to the rear lens
In some instances, Butler Creek may not offer a sufficiently large lens cap for the rear lens; however, you can effectively use the eyepiece cap for the front lens as well. The front and rear caps are distinguished not only by their size range but also by the activation button opening the rear cap.
Measurement Instructions:
Measure the outer diameter of your binoculars using a caliper or as accurately as possible with a ruler. The lens caps stretch reasonably well, approximately 0.5mm, so choose the correct size as precisely as you can. If you are uncertain between two sizes, opt for the larger one. The larger cap can always be adjusted smaller by placing a piece of electrical tape on the inside of the cap.
