N540 has a burn rate similar to N140, making it ideal for .308 Winchester cartridges.

One of the most significant features of Vihtavuori powders is the use of only the finest raw materials in the manufacturing process. Following extensive testing and product development, a copper fouling deterrent was added to all powder types. This additive prevents copper from adhering to the barrel, thereby significantly reducing fouling of the firearm.
