Discover an excellent selection of jigs in our online store! Jigs are incredibly effective lures. They are great for targeting perch, zander, and larger soft plastics for pike. There is a wide range of jig models available, and often their color patterns are really beautiful and effective. Additionally, they are more affordable compared to traditional baits, so anglers should stock up on different colors and sizes. However, in most cases, just a few different colors and jig head sizes will suffice.
As of this writing, the most popular jigs are from Jasu and Westin, with models like Ukko and Shadteez. The most favored sizes for perch are 5-7cm, while zander typically prefer a few centimeters larger. In this category, there is no right or wrong; it’s best to experiment with various jig and fishing styles for different fish species. For regular bottom jigging, jig heads of 5-7 grams are often sufficient for 2-5 meters of water, and heavier ones for deeper waters or current. Popular fishing styles alongside those mentioned include drop shot and vertical jigging, for which specific models have also been designed (e.g., Jasu Tiera).
It's worth noting that micro jig fishing is growing in popularity daily. This involves fishing with very small jig heads (e.g., 1-4g) and tails (e.g., 25mm). It goes without saying that the sensitivity of rods and lines should also be top-notch in these ventures.
As additional gear, consider fluorocarbon lines/leader (which enhance abrasion resistance and invisibility) and jig coloring markers (which allow for easy coloring and flavoring of jigs).
