About the W6 Braid Line

To achieve the perfect blend of essential qualities in braid line production, one must navigate a challenging path of braid line alchemy, which requires continuous refinement and testing before creating a top-tier line. The Westin W6 Braid is developed using a unique structure suitable for all types of lure fishing. Westin uses premium quality UHMPE (Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene) fibers for their incredible functionality and strength.

To achieve higher abrasion resistance and greater tensile strength, the W6 braid is constructed with a specialized weaving technique known as "Advanced High PIC". This 8X (8 strands) braided line is made with a 36 PIC structure (36 weaves per inch), providing a stronger line relative to its diameter. Additionally, the tighter weaving (Advanced High PIC) gives a softer surface. The casting experience is further enhanced by the Dura-Coating gel process, which provides the line with a soft and water-repellent surface. As a result, water does not absorb into the line as easily, reducing friction, which leads to more precise and longer casts!

To maintain a consistent color without fading quickly, the W6 Braid is immersed in a dye tank before oven treatment, where the color pigment is "baked" onto the line, and before the Dura-Coating application, which enhances the line's durability.
