The Vision Bug & UV hoodies are made from a blend of bamboo and polyester. Thanks to these materials, they absorb moisture effectively, wicking sweat away from your skin through evaporation or by transferring it to the next layers. This feature keeps you dry. The fabric is woven to trap air, making it an excellent first layer in cooler conditions, while also keeping you cool on hot summer days. With bamboo fibers that are as soft as silk, this shirt feels exceptionally smooth against your skin. Thanks to the antibacterial properties of bamboo, the shirts do not develop odors as easily as those made from entirely synthetic fabrics. Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants in the world, making it one of the most eco-friendly sources of textile fibers. The shirts feature UPF50 treatment, protecting you from harmful UV rays.

Insect Proof

The fabric used in the construction of these shirts has been treated with Tanatex Chemicals' Insect Proof treatment, which provides protection against both flying and crawling insects (e.g., mosquitoes, midges, and ticks). The active ingredient is permethrin, which is embedded in the fabric during manufacturing. As a result, the treatment's effectiveness lasts for a long time, even over 100 washes.

Permethrin is a synthetic chemical widely used as an insecticide and repellent around the world. It acts as a neurotoxin affecting the cell membranes of insect nerve cells. Products treated with permethrin do not merely repel insects; their efficacy is based on an "knockdown effect." When exposed to clothing, insects become incapacitated or die, thus preventing them from biting or stinging. Permethrin is not known to harm most mammals or birds, but it is toxic to fish and cats. Permethrin is a pesticide recommended by the WHO.

Clothing treated with permethrin has been widely used by various national armies. It has also been used in sports, outdoor, and fishing apparel, animal clothing and protective suits, curtain fabrics, and mattresses in tropical countries, as well as in the ground fabric of tents.

Insect Proof is a product developed and marketed by the Dutch company Tanatex Chemicals. It complies with the EU biocide product regulation no. 528/2012 and article 58 of chapter XIII concerning "Treated Articles." The active substance is permethrin CAS 52645-53-1. Permethrin may cause skin irritation.
