Size

When fitting waders, consider the following points:

• The waders must be large enough to allow for a squatting position. Wading involves a risk of slipping, which often leads to a sore backside and can cause immersing in water if the waders are too small. On the other hand, approaching wary fish in clear waters often requires sudden movements reminiscent of a toddler's level of regression on the riverbank.
• Waders shouldn't be too long either. Hip-hop-styled waders that hang low tend to split as the stride length increases, for example, when hopping over a ditch. Excessive length can also manifest as sagging legs. A wader with sagging fabric wears out more easily.
• Size matters in multiple ways! Waders are often bought in early summer. While there's never a bad time to buy waders, the scorching sun on summer streets can lead to purchasing too narrow pants, under which winter layers won't fit come fall.
• Speaking of summer streets, remember the big D, the D-ring. Depending on the model, waders are equipped with so-called D-rings, which are convenient for attaching nets, line cutters, etc. This isn't related to the size of the waders, but it’s worth mentioning so you don’t keep your gear inside the waders.

Model

There are many types of waders, and we have the right pair for everyone! 'The basic overall model' is the most recommended option if you wade in all kinds of depths or if you're unsure how deep you plan to go. With these, you can even immerse up to your belly button. However, for swimming, we recommend swimwear offered by sporting goods stores and department stores or a maple leaf according to the water body. If your groin stays dry from trip to trip, a waist model is perfect for you. If you're only getting your knees wet, consider attachable wader legs that fasten to a belt.

Details

The seams of waders are the most vulnerable spots for tearing, despite their taping. The main wear usually occurs on the inner seam as they rub against each other while walking. That's why we recommend choosing waders with seams positioned both in front and back.

In summer fishing, even the thought of putting on a jacket can feel stiflingly hot, but you still need somewhere to store the items in the jacket pockets. For this need, waders have been designed with plenty of pockets and attachment points for various tools.
